Video on TYPOLOGIES OF TOURIST BEHAVIOUR

Hello everyone! Let us introduce you to the types of tourist behaviour from the perspective of tourism academics.
Now, let us look at some of the first academic typologies.
The earlier types of tourist is either people are tourists or travellers. Sharpley describes tourist as someone who buys a package from a tour operator and participates in mass produced, package tourism.
While a traveller is someone who makes their own independent arrangements for their vacation.
Another academic, Boorstin, illustrated the tourist as a pleasure seeker and passive which means they expect everything to be done to them or for them.
Boorstin also illustrated the traveller as someone who is working at something and active, which means they are always in search of people, adventure and experience.
